Rootstime Production Presents the artist Soul Redemption

Mo Pic 4
Soul Redemption (aka Moroni, or Bradda Mo), born and raised on the “Big Island” of Hawai’i, is a Native Hawaiian musician who keeps and maintains his cultural roots with his expression through song. In step with the ancient tradition, where there is no separation between music, the chant (or song), and life itself; Soul Redemption’s music is culturally interwoven with life and the living breath of life, or “Ha” (in Hawaiian), where heart and soul flows through every lyric.
He has been compared to reggae singers; Luciano, and Lucky Dube; but it is his uniquely Hawaiian musical roots, reggae foundation, and charismatic lyrical delivery that Rootstime production wanted to highlight and bring to the world on the iDrop Riddim (aka Rootstime Riddim): Various Reggae Artists compilation album.
The track by Soul Redemption – “Love Is” ; recorded remotely in a “little grass shack” by the beach; is an example of his love life passion, and features his whole “Ohana” (family), including his own kids, and many nieces and nephews on the chorus line.
Soul Redemption believes in music’s ability to empower and unite all under one love and mutual understanding, through a direct conscious, and positive lyrical message.

Rootstime Production presents the artist: Kalani Kealoha

Kalani Kealoha_artist pic (color=COA)Native Hawaiian singer Kalani Kealoha began singing Hawaiian music as a child. His soulful voice gained the attention of the many traditional Hawaiian musicians and singers in his Ohana (family). His influences range from traditional Hawaiian, to R&B, and reggae. Kalani’s vocal abilities helped him win a Hawaiian Hoku award in 1995, and have made him the goto harmony guy for many local “Jawaiian” artists, where his brief featured solo performances are always a hit with the crowd.

Though it could be said that he is everyone’s “side man” or a “harmony singer”, his stage presence and ability during solo features is what lead to Kalani being asked to be a feature artist on the Rootstime Production label; iDrop Riddim (aka Rootstime Riddim): Various Reggae Artists album.

Kalani Kealoha’s tune, “Irie Eyes”, produced by Grammy nominated reggae guitarist Jason “Jahson” Murphey for Rootstime Production, features his smooth “lover’s rock” style vocals and the sweet Hawaiian Lap-Steel guitar of legendary Hawaiian musician, Greg Sardina. This unique combination of lap-steel guitar over the roots reggae iDrop Riddim (aka Rootstime Riddim), highlights Kalani Kealoha’s “Hawaiian style” vocals and brings a fresh new style to the world of reggae music.

Produced by Jason “Jahson” Murphey for Rootstime Production llc (2013).

Rootstime Production presents the artist: Ishmel McAnuff

Image

Ishmel Mcanuff (aka: Little Lion, Little Dragon, Trouble Double, et Kenniyata, Ishmael, Ishmel, and Macklaw) was born July 27, 1984 in Kingston Jamaica. Ishmel is the son of reggae great Winston Mcanuff and Viviene Johnson. Coming from a musical family Ishmel was on stage from an early age during Reggae Sunsplash 1987 at 2 ½ years old while his dad was performing: Watching and waiting he caught his dad’s eye, asking for the mic forcing his father to stop on stage and give him the mic. He fearlessly approached the crowd smiling, waving, and dancing, and then gave the mic back to his dad. This moment is etched in his earliest memories and is a testament to his charismatic performances to this day. At 7 years old, with the encouragement of his mother, he started DJing at parties and events, and at 9 he began writing and singing his own songs. At 10 Ishmel recorded his first song titled; “Me a Old Don” at Matic Studio in Christiana, Machester. Living in Kingston, violence was very high, so he left Kingston and moved to the country in Christiana Manchester. In 1996 at Treasure Beach St. Elizabeth, Ishmel (going by the stage name was “Little Lion”) opened for Dennis Brown, Culture and Tyrone Taylor .

Ishmel’s talent for music, and comfortable stage presence, also helped him win The Best Junior Actor in “Jamaica Gold” while attending Jamaica’s Knox College 1998. In that same year he continued his musical journey, opening for Bounty Killer and Baby Cham at Fayers Entertainments Mandeville, now going by the stage name; “Trouble Double”. In year 2000 Ishmel was the winner of the GT Taylor Red Label competition. Since then, Ishmel has not stopped moving forward with his musical career, recording and touring in Europe extensively. Ishmel Mcanuff  has his own naturally inspired style, and is a charismatic performer that is sometimes compared to Sizzla, Capleton, and Jah Mason. Rootstime production is honored to have Ishmel Mcanuff be a part of the upcoming album: iDrop Riddim (aka Rootstime Riddim): Various Reggae Artists. His tune, “Time a Get Tough” carries the strength and wisdom in lyrical advice from his mom, as well as a custom lead melody guitar that is unique to his track, with the guitar highlighting Ishmel’s emotional delivery and lyrical content, making it a standout on the album.
